The large miner Impala Platinum gives half of its mining land to the Zimbabwean government.
The miner declared that in return for the release of 23,903 hectares from his mine site, the Zimbabwean government had granted him two mining leases valid for the duration of his operations.
This agreement leaves Impala's local branch, Zimplats, with ownership of two sites including its Ngezi operations, and another complex on which the Hartley mining area and the Selous metallurgical complex are located.
Implats is the owner of 87% of Zimplats, which is Zimbabwe's biggest platinum miner. Investors responded positively to the news, with an increase of 5.24%...
